For waiver-funded support, your child’s approved plan sets the services and hours available. Once provider approval and service authorization are in place, we plan visits within those hours and discuss a schedule that works for your family. Private-pay hours are agreed directly with you, based on availability.

Respite gives parents and other primary caregivers time to rest or take care of everyday responsibilities while their child receives supervision and support. The location, activities and schedule follow the agreed plan and any applicable program requirements.

DDA waiver services and the Maryland Autism Waiver are separate Maryland Medicaid programs with their own eligibility and provider requirements. Both include respite options. Purple Haven is preparing to seek approval for waiver services; families are welcome to ask about our plans.

IISS stands for Intensive Individual Support Services. It is a Maryland Autism Waiver service that provides individualized, one-to-one support toward goals in an authorized treatment plan, with qualified professional supervision. IISS is a planned Purple Haven service, subject to provider approval and staffing requirements.

We welcome inquiries from families of children and young people ages 1–21 with developmental disabilities, including autism and Down syndrome. Our planned service area covers Prince George’s County and surrounding Maryland communities through Baltimore. The fit for each family depends on support needs, staffing and any required approvals.

Tell us about the times you need, including mornings, after school, evenings, weekends, summer or other school breaks. Visits and outings depend on availability and the agreed plan. School pickup and transportation also require appropriate arrangements, permission and any applicable program authorization.
